About

Cate is a Melbourne-based visual artist with a background in furniture design.  Her art practice is multidisciplinary, with painting being predominant.  Since taking up formal study her artwork has become more considered, conceptual, and expansive, a mix of figuration and abstraction.  Cate explores contemporary concepts that reflect upon the world around her, both physical and metaphysical.  Her work investigates identity; perception; memory; beauty; imperfection; and loss.  She hopes her work will inspire curiosity, offer a unique perspective, and lead to deeper contemplation and dialogue about the human condition.

Cate has completed her Certificate III in Visual Arts at NCAT, Diploma of Visual Arts and Advanced Diploma of Visual Arts at RMIT University, and is currently studying a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Painting at RMIT University.
